COOKIE POLICY

  1. What are cookies?

As clarified by the Data Protection Authority in the FAQ of December 2012, cookies are “small text files” – formed by letters and numbers –  “that the sites visited by the user send to his terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites the next visit of the same user”. Cookies have the function of streamlining the analysis of traffic on the web or to report when a specific site or a part of it is visited, to distinguish between them visitors in order to provide personalized content, and help administrators to improve the site and user experience. Through cookies we cannot access other information stored on your device, even if this is where cookies are downloaded. Cookies cannot load codes of any kind, carry viruses or malware and are not harmful to the user’s terminal.

Below you can find all the information about cookies installed through this site, and the necessary guidance on how to manage your preferences in this regard.

  1. Your consent to the use of cookies

By connecting for the first time to any page of the Site, the user will see an information banner on the use of cookies that will allow you to manage your installation preferences (consent).

The site remembers the choice made by the user, so the brief information will not be repeated in subsequent links from the same device. However, you can always revoke all or part of your consent.

If you encounter technical problems related to the provision of consent, please contact us through the appropriate channels provided by this site for Consulting to assist you.

  1. Duration of cookie

The cookies can be:

  • session cookies, which are stored persistently on the user’s computer and are deleted when the browser is closed, are strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers necessary to allow the safe and efficient exploration of the site avoiding the use of other computer techniques potentially detrimental to the confidentiality of users’ navigation;
  • persistent, cookies that remain stored on your computer’s hard drive until they expire or are deleted by users/visitors. Through persistent cookies visitors who access the site (or any other users who use the same computer) are automatically recognized with each visit. Visitors can set their computer’s browser to accept/reject all cookies or display a warning whenever a cookie is proposed, in order to assess whether or not to accept it. The user can, however, change the default configuration and disable cookies (ie block them permanently), setting the highest level of protection.
  1. Type of cookies

The cookies can be:

  • first-party cookies, that is cookies that report this website as a domain;
  • third party cookies, which are related to external domains.

Third party cookies are necessarily installed by an external party, always defined as “third party”, not managed by the site.  Another type of cookies are the so-called “Flash Cookies” (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player to deliver some content, such as video clips or animations, so as to remember the settings and preferences. Flash cookies are stored on the device, but are managed through a different interface than that provided by the browser used.  We also use Facebook pixel technology, a tool (third party), consisting of a small programming code inserted in our site, which allows us to collect statistical data, monitor the actions taken on our site by visitors and create custom groups of public to show our ads as well as take advantage of many other related features.

  1. Nature of cookies

Regarding the nature of cookies, there are several types:

– Technical cookies: are those used for the sole purpose of “to transmit a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service” (cf. art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).

They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or operator. They can be divided into:

  • navigation or session cookies, which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); they are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site;
  • analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site, in order to improve the performance of the site;
  • functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the same. The installation of these cookies does not require the prior consent of users (more information in the section Cookie management below).

– Profiling cookies: they are aimed at creating user profiles and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the same in the context of web browsing. The consent of the data subject is required for the use of profiling cookies.  In the case of third-party cookies, the site does not have direct control of individual cookies and cannot control them (it can neither install them directly nor delete them). You can still manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below), or the sites indicated in the “Cookie management” section.
